Locaters Pty Ltd have been engaged on a full-time basis to provide a ‘Utility Manager’ to John Holland’s project management team.

Our role is to coordinate the creation and management of the Permit to Excavate process in conjunction with the construction schedule. In addition, working with the project management team, we are required to perform site briefings, permit inductions as well as liaise with the safety team for possible system improvements.

Project issues:

  • A large site with multiple construction groups and staged activities
  • Varying levels of utility information across the site
  • Low confidence in utility plans with multiple plans showing different information
  • Simultaneous installation of other utility infrastructure by a third party within our project areas

How we helped:

  • Gained detailed understanding of client requirements and project objectives
  • Creation and maintenance of a ‘Combined Utility Drawing’
  • Monitor permit currency with construction activities by our client and others
  • Monitor permit effectiveness with the Safety and Management team

 

Special Operations Working Accommodation (SOWA) – Holsworthy Army Barracks
